Almost 100% of what you donate goes to help the people we support

One of the ways we keep administration costs down is by sourcing donations for services. Until recently we could claim that 100% of all our fundraising and donations go directly to those people whom we are helping however earlier this year we upgraded our website to a plan that costs AUD $240 per year. This remains our only administrative cost. Our bank, St George, kindly waives foreign transactions fees and our website costs were initially donated, as are all the items Virginia brings back from Nepal to raise funds at our dinner. All our Management Committee Members volunteer their services and donate any other expenses. You can make a donation knowing that almost 100% of what you donate will go to help the patients we support….

Read what Kristine, Danielle and Ale did!

A huge thank you to Kristine, Ale and Danielle for making us the beneficiary of your joint 40th birthday parties! $620 was collected in lieu of birthday presents and donated to us just in time for Christmas, which we think is outstandingly generous! Your donations will be used to purchase ongoing medical and physio supplies at the Shelter. Thank you everyone who gave a gift that gives twice!

We can do gift certificates too for Christmas, birthdays, weddings or any other special event!

Happy first birthday Roads to Rehab Nepal and merry Christmas and happy new year everyone!

Today we are twelve months old and we are celebrating!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your wonderful support and also wish you, your friends and families, a very merry Christmas and safe and happy new year!

Over the last twelve months we have raised $20,466 which we think is pretty amazing.  Your generosity has directly changed the lives of 41 people who would have been otherwise condemned to a life time of disability and all that that entails in Nepal.  We think that is even more amazing….

Occasionally NHEDF has patients that cannot be cured. One person this year passed away, and another is not making the progress that was hoped for, but they received and continue to receive compassionate care, support and understanding and travel their road with the dignity they deserve.

The outstanding generosity of our donors and sponsors means that Anjeela, Kusum and Kunga‘s wages are now fully funded. This does not however mean we don’t need any more donations! There are so many more things that we can do to improve health outcomes for people at NHEDF’s Shelter who previously had no one else to turn to and nowhere else to go.

Next year, our fistula program will be further developed, and we will help NHEDF with surgical and medical costs as well as continuing to help with wages, so we are excited to have two projects to support in 2018.

We would also like to take this opportunity to wish all our supporters and all those wonderful people in Nepal who support NHEDF in the various ways that they do, a merry Christmas and a peaceful, healthy and happy 2018.

We look forward to an even better bigger second year, and know, with your generosity, we can continue to achieve amazing things. Roads to rehabilitation are often long and difficult, and we hope you will continue to share this journey with us.

Its not too late to donate!

We can give you lots of options ranging from grant writing, writing press releases, media, marketing, advertising, fundraising, much needed help with social media and so forth – the sky is the limit!

Bring Christmas to NHEDF – NHEDF’s letter to Santa

Group of patients at NHEDF saying 'Namaste'

Dear Santa,

We are very a small organization working with an Australian organisation called Roads to Rehab Nepal. Between us we work to improve health outcomes for people who have life-changing injuries and cannot access medical care because they are poor.

We are writing this letter to let you know that despite our hard work this year, things often do not go smoothly, and our work remains a challenge. It is sometimes difficult for us to meet all our financial obligations and provide everything our patients need because there are so many patients that depend on us and our funding is very stretched.

NHEDF is writing this letter in the hope that you can send some angels or elves to help! Our rent is a very big commitment so please share this letter with your elves, and ask them to share it with everyone they know because what we need does not come easily – We need our own land where we can build our dream Shelter and a magical way to fund all its ongoing costs….

Everyone at NHEDF has been very good this year and has worked so hard for those that depend on us and we are so grateful for any support. If we cannot have land and a Shelter of our own, as much support as you and your elves can organize for us would be very, very, very much appreciated and we promise to continue all our amazing hard work.

If you or your elves would like to make a donation please do this via our website http://www.roads-to-rehab-nepal.org

Thank you, Santa!

With best regards,

Team NHEDF

Stuck for Christmas presents? We can help!

Stuck for presents with only 18 more sleeps until Christmas! Give a gift that gives twice! In return for a donation we can make you a beautiful gift certificate to wrap up for that person who needs or wants nothing, but you still want to give them something!

Your gift will not end up in a drawer somewhere, but will be used to improve health outcomes for people at NHEDF’s Shelter. Make a donation and don’t forget to send us the person’s name and we will have your certificate in your inbox ready for you to wrap in plenty of time for Christmas!

Don’t do Christmas? We can also do birthday presents, wedding presents  or presents for any other excuse you can think of!

Want to learn Nepalese?

Our founding Trustee Virginia has written this language book which is for sale for $10 on Amazon. If you would like to learn Nepalese without having to read or write the script this is the book for you! It started as a big bunch of notes and was eventually organised into this. Better still, 50% of the proceeds go to the two people over many treks who patiently taught me my vocabulary and three different charities which include the Australian Himalayan Foundation, Classrooms in the Clouds and now Roads to Rehab Nepal as Langtang Valley Health Australia, Virginia’s previous charity no longer exists after everything  this charity supported was destroyed in the earthquake.
